The Top 10 Highest Paying Master’s Degrees

Studies have shown that those with a bachelor’s degree can earn significantly more than just high school graduates. Similarly, if you have a master’s degree, you can expect to earn much more on average. It might be a scary thought that you need to spend a lot to start making money, but in the long run, if you have the right degree, it’s definitely worth it. The following list should help you understand which master’s degrees can help you earn a more than satisfactory salary.

1. Petroleum Engineer – Starting Salary $102,000

Petroleum engineers work for oil or gas companies to help in designing, testing, and implementing different petroleum extraction and production methods from the sea floor. The majority of a petroleum engineer’s time will be spent making predictions and estimations since they won’t have eyes thousands of feet below the surface of the ocean. Their jobs are tied closely to other professions such as geologists. Their collaboration with other professionals from various fields aims to improve the oil and gas extraction processes as well as the petroleum refining process. Petroleum engineers are highly sought after due to the increasing need of hydrocarbons as a reliable fuel source.

2. Nurse Anesthetist – Starting Salary $140,000

An MBA in entrepreneurship aims to provide students with the expertise needed to start, build, or even advise new businesses. The most fundamental courses taught in an entrepreneurship program are financial accounting, operations management, global marketing, data analysis, among others. As anybody who knows a little bit about new businesses, without the proper skill set and knowledge, you might be setting yourself up for failure. A master’s degree in entrepreneurship gives you the knowledge and experience regarding successes and failures without having to go through the hardships or running, managing, and liquidating a business. Graduates are expected to take the leap into establishing their own small- or medium-scale companies.
